About the Role

Join the Preston Hire team as a Yard Hand based at our Cabramatta, NSW depot. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping our equipment fleet safe, clean, and ready for hire. You’ll work alongside a supportive team in a fast-paced yard and workshop environment, contributing to smooth daily operations and excellent customer outcomes. This role involves manual handling, lifting, and working on your feet throughout the day.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Cleaning, preparing, assembling, spray painting, and repairing Preston Hire equipment for delivery and return
• Checking off platforms and cranes; safely loading and unloading trucks
• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop and yard
• Liaising with the Operations Coordinator on deliveries and pickups
• Completing all required paperwork accurately, including pre-delivery forms, timesheets, and delivery/return dockets
• Working on customer sites when required, ensuring installations meet customer expectations
• Presenting professionally and maintaining confidentiality at all times

Essential

• Current valid driver’s licence
• Right to work in Australia
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• A reliable team player with good communication skills

Desirable

• Previous experience in a yard, workshop, or labouring role
• Current forklift licence (LF ticket)
