The Role

We are looking for experienced Senior Mechanical or Hydraulic Technicians to join our team! This role involves the manufacturing, repair, inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various hydraulic components and systems, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively. Hybrid workshop and site based positions with excellent full time earning potential

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pressure testing, flushing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and piping systems.
  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and inspect hydraulic components including cylinders, HPUs, manifolds, tubing, hoses, valves, and fittings.
  • Diagnose faults and reliability issues, providing effective troubleshooting and technical solutions.
  • Lead hydraulic shutdowns and field campaigns, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Support Project Managers and Engineers with technical planning, workpack reviews, and shutdown readiness activities.
  • Build strong client relationships onsite, providing technical support and maintaining accurate service and inspection records.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior technicians while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification in Hydraulics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (Certificate IV in Fluid Power highly regarded).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on industrial hydraulic systems within mining, heavy industry, or fixed plant environments.
  • Strong hydraulic fault-finding, maintenance, repair, testing, and commissioning experience.
  • Sound understanding of fluid power systems and the ability to diagnose and resolve hydraulic issues effectively.
  • Previous mining shutdown and heavy industry hydraulic experience highly desirable.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to site as required.
