The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager – Mining to join our commercial team, responsible for the strategic growth and execution of sales initiatives across key accounts withing the mining sector. In this pivotal role, you will lead business development activities, influence strategic decisions, and help shape the company’s long-term growth trajectory by driving commercial performance and client engagement.
You’ll work closely with the Commercial & Strategy Manager, internal teams, and key external stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions and build lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development initiatives across key accounts within the mining sector in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and PNG
- Conduct site visits to engage with Maintenance Superintendents, Asset Managers, and Reliability Engineers
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of sales opportunities in CRM
- Execute the Sales Plan in line with company strategy and report on performance
- Develop and implement tailored “win strategies” per client and opportunity
- Lead commercial pursuits from early engagement through to contract award
- Maintain active communication with clients through the full delivery cycle
- Coordinate structured client engagement initiatives such as presentations, site tours, and networking events
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to inform strategic decisions
- Support budget development through market insights and projected sales forecasting
- Present and facilitate client engagement across technical and delivery teams
- Conduct market research and identify strategic opportunities for growth
- Represent the Company at major mining conferences to build a high-profile industry network.
Qualifications & Experience
- A proven track record in business development, commercial sales, or account management in the Mining sector.
- Strong commercial and strategic mindset with excellent relationship-building skills
- Background in engineering, industrial services, or project delivery environments (preferred)
- Proficiency in CRM systems and confident sales reporting
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive results
- Comfortable attending industry and networking events on behalf of the company
