About the role
We are seeking a Vineyard Operator to join the team at Pikes’, located in Sevenhill, South Australia. This full-time role is essential to the ongoing success of our viticulture operations, playing a key part in maintaining our vineyards and ensuring the highest quality grape production.
What you’ll be doing
- Performing all general vineyard maintenance tasks, including pruning, tying, canopy management, and harvesting
- Operating and maintaining vineyard machinery and equipment, including tractors, sprayers, and harvesters
- Monitoring vineyard health and implementing appropriate pest and disease control measures
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to all vineyard activities
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of vineyard operations and procedures.
This is a ‘hands-on’ vineyard role and knowledge of vineyard, viticultural operations and machinery operation is desirable. You will work closely within our small vineyard team and alongside our winemaking team.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in vineyard mechanical harvesting operations preferred, however if you have a willingness to learn training will be provided to an ideal candidate!
- Ability to operate and maintain a range of vineyard machinery and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Passion for the wine industry and a commitment to producing high-quality grapes
- Current driver’s licence and forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
