Location for this role is flexible and we will accept applications from people located nationally.

About the Role

The Pharmacist Prescribing – Trainer & Assessor combines advanced training and assessment responsibilities with education delivery and operational coordination to ensure learning experiences are engaging, evidence-based, scalable and compliant with Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements.

In this role you will support the end-to-end learner journey including tutorials, workshops, workplace learning, assessment implementation, marking and quality assurance processes. You will also ensure systems and processes are in place to support learner progression, timely and consistent marking, assessment oversight and continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with RTO and accreditation standards.

In the role, you will:

Training Delivery 

  • Deliver engaging, evidence-based education across workshops, webinars, workplace-based learning and other approved modalities.
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, practical sessions, assessments and other education activities in both face-to-face and virtual environments, including logistical preparation as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of education and training products, learning resources and assessment activities aligned with strategic priorities and accreditation requirements
  • Coordinate education implementation activities including learner onboarding, scheduling, timetabling, communications and assessment periods.

Assessment & Compliance

  • Conduct assessment activities in accordance with RTO Standards, assessment principles and organisational policies, and provide oversight and coordination support across marking and assessment processes within the expanded scope programs.
  • Gather, evaluate and record assessment evidence accurately, consistently and within required timeframes.
  • Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback to support learner competency development and progression.
  • Establish and maintain systems and processes to ensure assessment allocation, marking, moderation and completion activities occur efficiently, fairly and within required timeframes.
  • Participate in moderation, validation, audit and continuous improvement activities as required, including supporting course review and uplift where appropriate for accreditation.
  • Ensure training and assessment activities comply with RTO standards, principles of assessment, rules of evidence and relevant accreditation requirements.

Learner & Stakeholder Support

  • Onboard new learners and facilitate commencement of training programs.
  • Provide tailored learning support and guidance to learners across expanded scope (i.e. prescribing) programs, supporting engagement, progression and completion; and implement strategies to address barriers to completion, including during peak periods.
  • Monitor learner progress, assessment outcomes and engagement, escalating risks or concerns in line with internal processes.
  • Liaise with learners, employers, internal teams and external stakeholders to support learner progression and successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive learner experience through responsive and professional communication.

  • Maintain accurate, compliant and audit-ready learner and assessment records, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements.
  • Monitor quality and continuous improvement by evaluating training effectiveness, identifying risks or non-compliance, and recommending enhancements based on feedback and data.
  • Collaborate nationally with trainers, assessors and internal teams to support program delivery, coordinate operational activities, and contribute to the effective implementation of education initiatives and systems (LMS, SMS, CRM).

What We’re Looking For

Essential 

  • AHPRA registration (pharmacist or nurse) and contemporary practice experience.
  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor, an Assessor Skill Set, or other relevant VET assessor credential — or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in competency-based assessment within an RTO or higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering and/or assessing education within pharmacy or a related healthcare industry, including proven training, coaching and facilitation skills, an engaging delivery style, knowledge of contemporary learning practices, and adaptability to diverse learner needs.
  • Demonstrated current knowledge and skills relevant to the pharmacy industry, including an understanding of the issues, needs and evolving trends locally and nationally to support workforce development.
  • Sound understanding of assessment principles and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, with strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to support varying learning needs.
  • Digital capability across learning and student management systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a distributed national team.
  • Commitment to maintaining current knowledge and skills in vocational training, learning and assessment through ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • Current prescribing rights or recent prescribing experience.
  • Experience in pharmacist expanded scope, including prescribing in Australia.
  • Knowledge of RTO Standards and funded training environments.
  • Experience delivering education to adult learners across multiple modalities.
  • Industry accreditation or specialist practice experience relevant to delivered programs.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Management Systems (SMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Experience working for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
  • Experience facilitating workplace-based learning and implementing workplace-based assessments.
  • Sound knowledge of the VET sector, RTO Standards or compliance requirements set by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
