About Us
History is being made in Perth! The Bears are coming to the NRL in 2027, and we’re looking for passionate people to help us build something incredible from the ground up. This is your chance to be part of the action, working behind the scenes of a professional sporting club as we prepare to roar onto the national stage.
If you love sport, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to be part of rugby league history, this is your moment.
The Opportunity
As we prepare for our entry into the National Rugby League in 2027, we are seeking
a Digital Marketing Coordinator to sit at the heart of our marketing team, working across content, social, and digital execution.
On any given day you might be:
- Capturing content at training or events
- Editing a reel that cuts through on TikTok or Instagram
- Planning the next week’s content calendar
- Jumping on a trend before it peaks
- Analysing what worked (and what didn’t)
- Helping bring campaigns, partnerships and moments to life
You won’t just follow a playbook — you’ll help write it.
What You’ll Do
Social & Content Leadership
- Lead and execute our social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and X
- Shoot, edit, and publish short-form video, reels, stories, and social content.
- Build and manage a fast-moving, high-impact content calendar
- Elevate the quality and consistency of all published content.
Content Creation
- Shoot, edit and publish short-form video, reels, stories and social content
- Capture behind-the-scenes access, community moments and club milestones
- Lift the quality and consistency of everything we put out
- Take the Big Bears Podcast to the next level
Digital Execution
- Support campaigns across web, EDM and in-stadium screens
- Work closely with partnerships to deliver sponsor content that actually performs
- Help drive CRM growth and fan data capture
- Keep everything aligned to brand and built for scale
What Success Looks Like
This role has clear accountability. You’ll be measured on:
- Audience growth across all platforms
- Engagement and fan connection
- Consistency and quality of content
- Video performance and reach
- Contribution to memberships, merch and database growth
What We’re Looking For
You’re a doer. You move fast. You care about the craft. You bring:
- Experience running social channels for a brand, team or content-led business
- Strong portfolio of video and social content
- Confident shooting and editing (Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut, DaVinci or similar)
- Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
- Strong instincts for what works — and why
- Experience in sport, media or entertainment
- Basic design capability (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
- Experience in utilising analytics tools and performance tracking
- Willingness to work flexibly around events and key moments
- Demonstrated ability to adapt content for various digital platforms and audience segments.
Working in a Start-Up Environment
The Perth Bears are a start-up organisation in a critical foundation phase. This position is intentionally hands-on and will initially operate with lean support structures and a broad remit in the short term.
You will design, build and deliver concurrently while the club grows around you. This is not a role with layers of administration or inherited systems. You will be required to design processes, integrate technology platforms, build relationships, solve problems in real time, and deliver outcomes concurrently.
Success in this role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong personal accountability, and the ability to move seamlessly between planning and hands-on execution.
Why Join Us
This is more than a job — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape the success of Perth’s new NRL team. You’ll be part of a start-up phase where your ideas, energy and leadership will directly influence the club’s future.
• This is a rare opportunity to join a team being built entirely from the ground up, within a high-profile, values-driven organisation
• Work in a dynamic, ambitious and supportive start-up culture
• Leave your mark on rugby league in Western Australia
How to Apply
If you’re ready to join one of the most exciting new ventures in Australian sport, we want to hear from you. Apply now with your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and why you’re the right person to build the Bears’ future.
You will be sent a pre-screening questionnaire after submitting your application.
