We are looking for a motivated and analytical Commercial Finance Accountant to join our dynamic team.

The Role

The Commercial Finance Accountant is a pivotal role within our finance team, responsible for assisting with the reporting and analysis requirements for our sites.

Working closely with the Commercial Finance Manager and the Senior Management Team, you will develop reports that interpret financial performance against budgets. You will be a key player in the planning and budgeting cycle, acting as the primary point of contact for all commercial finance matters for MHS.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Insights

  • Ownership: Manage monthly reporting for our sites, variance analysis, and rolling forecasting.
  • Visualisation: Build dashboards and meaningful visuals to provide actionable business insights.
  • Modelling: Prepare and interpret financial models to assist with organisation-wide decision-making.
  • Strategic Support: Partner with the FP&A Manager on PHS monthly requirements and group-wide financial solutions.

Financial Processes & Business Partnering

  • Analysis: Monitor P&L, cash flow, and CAPEX, identifying opportunities to increase revenue or reduce costs.
  • Corporate Development: Measurement and forecasting of financial transactions and potential corporate development activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review and implement internal controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Education: Act as a mentor across the business, educating team members on KPIs, scenario planning, and reporting tools.
  • Collaboration: Assist with business cases for new opportunities and support the year-end audit process.

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualifications: Completed Accounting/Finance degree and CPA or CA qualified.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a similar commercial finance or analytical role.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Analytical Mindset: Excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to provide well-researched, sound solutions to complex problems.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.
