About the Position

This hands-on role is ideal for a proactive Assistant Accountant looking to further develop their career within a fast-moving and growing business. Reporting to senior management, you will assist with a broad range of accounting, reporting, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Financial Processing

  • Manage and distribute incoming correspondence and invoices
  • Work closely with Property Managers to identify recoverable and non-recoverable outgoings
  • Maintain accounting classifications and coding structures for property expenses
  • Prepare tenancy-specific outgoing calculations based on property allocations
  • Process supplier invoices and coordinate approval workflows
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations

Management Accounting

Support the preparation of monthly management reports, including:

  • Reviewing and validating financial transaction coding
  • Reconciling tenant outgoing recoveries against actual expenditure
  • Producing detailed outgoing statements for individual properties

Assist with year-end financial reporting by:

  • Preparing annual outgoing reconciliations and reports
  • Conducting detailed audits of recoverable expenses to ensure accurate tenant billing

Budgeting & Administration

  • Prepare annual outgoing budgets for each tenancy
  • Update and maintain budgets throughout the financial year
  • Monitor budget performance and report on variances
  • Provide general administrative support, including filing and document management
  • Attend internal meetings and contribute to team operations as required

About You

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Previous experience within the property industry will be highly regarded
