Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA)

Brisbane CBD | Full-time | Permanent

About PEHA

Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA) operates a growing national network of private emergency departments and emergency care centres in partnership with leading private hospitals across Australia.

From our Brisbane head office, we support sites across Queensland, Canberra, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia, with further expansion planned. PEHA is a fast-moving healthcare organisation where operational reliability, accuracy and responsiveness are essential to how we deliver care.

We are a collaborative head office team that values initiative, clear thinking and people who take ownership of their work.

About the role

This is a varied operations support role that provides broad exposure to healthcare operations, compliance and administration within a growing national healthcare organisation. The role is hands-on and works closely with the Operations Manager, Practice Managers and Recruitment Team to help keep day-to-day operational and compliance processes running smoothly.

You will play an important role in supporting doctor credentialing and compliance, maintaining operational systems and assisting Practice Managers across multiple sites. You will also work alongside another Operations Support Officer to provide coordinated support across the network.

The role would suit an early-career professional with strong written communication skills, analytical thinking and a desire to build a career in healthcare operations, compliance or business support.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the PEHA Operations and Recruitment Teams.
  • Support doctor onboarding, credentialing and compliance processes across the network
  • Maintain accurate records relating to AHPRA registration, indemnity insurance, hospital credentialing and compliance documentation.
  • Follow up outstanding documentation and ensure records remain current and audit-ready
  • Assist Practice Managers with operational administration, billing support and site coordination tasks as required.
  • Coordinate doctor travel and accommodation arrangements when required
  • Maintain operational registers, trackers and reporting documentation across multiple sites
  • Assist with operational coordination activities, process improvements and service development initiatives
  • Support activities associated with new site establishment and expansion

About you

You are highly organised, a strong communicator and comfortable working with detail and structured processes. You take pride in producing accurate written work, can think critically about tasks and are proactive in following things through to completion.

You will be well-suited to this role if you have:

  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • The ability to think critically, problem-solve and work through tasks independently
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • The ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working with systems, data and Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive approach and willingness to follow up on outstanding items
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a small, collaborative team

A degree in business, health sciences, public health, biomedical science or a related field will be highly regarded.

Experience in administration, operations support and compliance coordination or a similar role is beneficial, but this role is also suitable for strong early-career candidates looking to develop in healthcare operations.
