Support Worker (Internally know as an Enablement Assistant)

Location: Headington, Oxford

Hours Per Week: 22.5 hours

Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour

About the role

John is 54 and has a diagnosis of Autism and a learning disability. He is supported on a 1:1 basis and lives in his own home is Headington, Oxford.

He requires support and encouragement in cooking his meals, shopping, and cleaning his house, to ensure he maintains his independence and gains confidence.

He loves listening to music and going for long walks with his team and having lunch in a local pub or cafe.

John works part time as a shop assistant in a charity shop, and Team members will be required to support and encourage him to do this.

He can become anxious at times and therefore requires warm, positive team members to reassure him to feel safe and secure.

PBS4 is a values led social care organisation, providing Neurodisability Services to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and/or behaviours that may challenge. We support people living in their own homes, with their own tenancies, and we utilise Positive Behaviour Support as the framework for the support we provide.

Our approach is underpinned by Positive Behaviour Support. Positive Behaviour Support is an approach mostly used to support people with learning disabilities whose behaviours challenge others.
