Baker / Pastry Chef
Full-time | Floriditas – Wellington

We’re looking for a full-time Baker / Pastry Chef to take ownership of our bakery and dessert production.
The Role
This role is responsible for:
- All counter food items at Floriditas
- The majority of dessert preparation for service
- Working on a rotating menu, developed collaboratively with our senior kitchen team
- You’ll work primarily from our production and prep kitchen on Swan Lane, with occasional support shifts in the Floriditas service kitchen when required.
- You’ll report directly to the Head Chef – Floriditas and work closely with Julie Clark on menu development and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce all counter food items to agreed recipes, specifications, and par levels
- Prepare and maintain dessert components for service
- Maintain clean, organised, and food-safe bakery and prep kitchen spaces
- Take responsibility for bakery equipment use, care, and maintenance
- Communicate clearly around recipe changes, prep needs, and equipment requirements
- Participate in weekly or fortnightly planning meetings
- Support the wider kitchen team as needed — this role is part of the BOH team, not a silo

- Proven experience as a baker and/or pastry chef in a professional kitchen
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working with production volumes and structured systems
- Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
