Help young people find safety, stability, and a future they can believe in. 

We are looking for passionate, relationship-focused Youth and Family Workers to join our team supporting young people experiencing homelessness and complex life challenges in our Ruby’s programme. 

Ruby’s supports young people aged 12–17 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to family conflict or relationship breakdowns. The service works with both young people and their parents or caregivers to improve relationships, strengthen communication, and support safe reunification where appropriate. 

This is an opportunity to walk alongside young people as they build independence, reconnect with community, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change. 

What You’ll be Doing 

  • Supporting young people to access safe, stable housing 
  • Building trusted relationships that promote empowerment and self-determination 
  • Be apart of a team that delivers therapeutic interventions, crisis support, counselling, and case management  
  • Advocating for young people’s rights, needs, education, employment, and wellbeing 
  • Supporting independent living skills and healthy routines 
  • Creating opportunities for social inclusion and community connection 
  • Working collaboratively with families, services, schools, and external stakeholders 
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, reports, and risk documentation 
  • Contributing to a positive, respectful, and supportive team culture 

About You 

You are someone who: 

  • Leads with empathy, professionalism, and authenticity 
  • Certificate IV in Youth Work or the equivalent / Diploma of Youth Work.  
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth and families in a community-based setting. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.  
  • A current Provide First Aid Certificate (St Johns Ambulance or approved equivalent) must be obtained before commencing employment.
