Description

Position Purpose

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction within all areas of the property, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. The ideal candidate is highly organised, proactive, and has a keen eye for detail.

 

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Duties:

·Assist in managing the housekeeping team, including supervisor, room attendants, public area attendants, and houseman.

·Coordinate daily work schedules, allocate rooms, and delegate tasks to ensure effective cleaning coverage.

·Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to company standards and service expectations.

 

Quality Assurance:

·Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces to ensure quality standards are met.

·Implement and uphold standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all areas.

·Handle guest feedback and resolve housekeeping-related issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction.

 

Inventory and Supplies:

·Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities; place orders to replenish stock as needed.

·Control costs by efficiently managing resources and reducing waste.

 

Health and Safety Compliance:

·Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

·Train staff on safety protocols and proper usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

 

Administrative Tasks:

·Maintain records of cleaning schedules, stock levels, and staff attendance.

·Assist the Executive Housekeeper with scheduling, budgeting, and performance evaluations.
