About the role:

This role provides strategic and operational leadership throughout the social enterprise sector within Victoria. This role ensures the delivery of sustainable and commercial growth that aligns with the values of Outlook.

We are looking for someone who can drive growth, diversification and long-term sustainability of the social enterprise section of the business. The role includes leading the operations across the container deposit scheme, transfer stations, re-use shops and future operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing the strategic plan for the statewide social enterprise sector of the business.
  • Identifying, evaluating and delivering new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Leading, guiding and supporting a diverse workforce while developing workforce strategies to retain and attract new employees.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including councils, government agencies, industry bodies and partners to promote Outlooks social enterprise model.
  • Taking initiative to manage our clients’ expectations, risks and any change that may have an impact on our clients.
  • Management of the business units’ budget, reporting and financial performance while ensuring operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Overseeing the transition of new sites, services and projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Promoting Outlooks quality, and values to support workplace safety.

What we are looking for:

  • Lead, coach and empower the operational leaders to develop the team to be able to work collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Experience in senior management in the commercial, operational or social enterprise sector.
  • Ability to manage financial sustainability, social and project outcomes along with experience managing a diverse team and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver complex initiatives within the required timeframe.
  • Experience in waste management, resource recovery, recycling or similar industry.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
