Summary:
The Mental Health Clinical Manager in the South West is responsible for leading and overseeing the service’s Clinical Team, to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality mental health services across the region.
The role provides leadership, direction, mentorship, and clinical support to the team while maintaining best practice frameworks, clinical standards, and continuous service improvement.
The position works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to
enhance mental health outcomes within the community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership to Clinicians in the Organisation’s Southwest Mental Health Programs to ensure that mental health services are delivered in a safe, sustainable and effective manner.
- Ensure that delivery of the Organisation’s SW mental health services by employees reflects high standards of clinical governance consistent with the Organisation’s Clinical Governance Framework.
- Provide clinical advice to internal and external stakeholders, particularly the Organisation’s employed SW Mental Health Clinicians.
Represent the Organisation at a range of forums and activities related to mental health within the region.
- Represent the Organisation on the relevant clinical forums/committee to provide clinical expertise relating to development of Mental health services.
- Attend and contribute to the Organisation’s Clinical Governance Committee meetings.
- Complete SW Mental Health Clinicians’ performance appraisals.
- Establish, develop and review systems, protocols and procedures for the delivery of high-quality services across the region.
- Under the oversight of the General Manager of Clinical Operations, assist with the investigation and resolution of incidents, complaints, clinical risks and/or adverse events related to services.
- Work as part of a team in maintaining relevant accreditation.
- Identify new business opportunities for the Organisation in relation to SW mental health and liaise with stakeholders to develop strong collaborative relationships.
- Oversight of the responsive central triage of referrals to ensure timely assessment of clients and monitor SW Mental Health Clinician caseloads to ensure safe and effective practice standards, including clinical documentation requirements.
- Facilitate timely clinical reviews of service clients in accord with relevant policies and facilitate and provide internal clinical supervision to clinical team employees.
Essential Qualifications/ Experience:
One of the following mental health qualifications:
- Mental Health Registered Nurse
- Mental Health Accredited Social Worker
- Mental Health specialised Occupational
- Therapist Registered Psychologist
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Clinical Mental Health role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent understanding of mental health legislation and policies in Australia
Essential Requirements:
- Current Western Australian Drivers Licence
- National Police Clearance
- Approved Working with Children Check WA
- Pre-Employment Health Assessment
- Current Registration with AHPRA or AASW (Social Workers)
