We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Programmer to join our IT team in Mulgrave, VIC!
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Provide daily support and development assistance for OM’s applications and databases, including Group Data Warehouse, SAP Business One, WMS, OMIS, and SalesIQ, with exposure to AI-enabled features and enhancements;
- Assist in identifying opportunities to integrate AI capabilities (e.g., automation, data analysis, predictive insights) into OMIS and SalesIQ to improve business processes;
- Work with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document requirements, including identifying areas where AI can enhance workflows or reporting;
- Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of applications, including AI-assisted modules, data pipelines, or intelligent reporting features;
- Maintain and enhance existing systems, ensuring data quality and readiness for AI-driven analysis and automation;
- Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and analytical tools (e.g., SalesIQ insights) to support business decision-making;
- Provide support to various business units and contribute to software solutions that incorporate automation and intelligent processing;
- Deliver ad-hoc training and guidance to end-users, including introducing new AI-enabled features and tools where applicable;
- Assist with hardware and system implementation as required, including environments supporting AI workloads or integrations;
- Participate in support rotations, including occasional after-hours support;
To be successful you will need
- Full Australian working rights and MUST live in Australia
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science
- 1–3 years of relevant experience (or strong internship/project experience for fresh graduates)
- Proficient in English both written and verbal
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is advantageous
- Exposure to Java, C#, or similar technologies is desirable
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and access to own car is advantageous
- Interest in AI-related technologies (e.g., automation, or machine learning concepts)
- Willingness to learn and contribute to AI-enabled enhancements in systems.
