ABOUT ORDE FINANCIAL

ORDE is a nonbank lender built exclusively for brokers, combining human and credit expertise with innovative technology to help brokers build stronger futures for their clients. We reflect the reality of today’s borrowers, from SMEs with complex needs to near prime clients seeking clearer paths forward.

Since 2020, ORDE has funded more than $10b in loans and supported over 16,000 borrowers – all through brokers. We offer Residential, Commercial, SMSF and Construction loans and other specialised solutions, with fast decisions, deep credit insight and a streamlined digital experience.

We are passionate (and a bit obsessed…) about being disruptive and pushing hard to improve the experience and results for mortgage brokers. Our purpose “Built for Brokers” is clear and simple and define our entire strategy (delivering better experiences, more value and opportunity, anticipating more needs and communicating more solutions, for brokers and their customers).

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a freelance designer or document production specialist to support legal and regulated documents on an ad‑hoc basis.

The majority of the work will be document production and typesetting, including formatting, amendments, version updates and maintaining consistency across long‑form documents (primarily Word and InDesign). Accuracy, attention to detail and comfort working with legal or regulated content are essential.

From time to time, there will also be a need to create supporting assets using existing creative concepts or templates (e.g. covers, fact sheets, tiles, online banners, summaries or inserts). This work is executional and template‑driven – creative concepts, brand frameworks and guidelines will already be in place.

We’re open to candidates with a creative design background, provided they’re comfortable spending the majority of their time on structured document production and detailed typesetting work. Ideally Melbourne‑based, with the flexibility to occasionally work from our office and be available by phone for real‑time edits and changes when documents are live or under review.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Legal and regulatory document creation

  • Typeset, format and produce long-form legal and regulated documents in Word and InDesign, ensuring clean layout, consistency and readability.
  • Apply amendments and version updates accurately, including tracked changes, controlled formatting and pagination management.
  • Maintain document integrity: styles, headings, tables, cross-references, charts (where applicable), master templates and brand compliance.
  • Support review cycles by turning edits around quickly, reconciling feedback from multiple stakeholders and keeping files audit-ready.
  • Prepare final outputs for distribution (print-ready and digital PDFs), including basic QA checks for accuracy, accessibility and formatting consistency.

2. Design asset creation

  • Create supporting design assets using existing concepts, templates and brand guidelines (e.g., covers, fact sheets, inserts, tiles and online banners).
  • Adapt and resize approved creative across formats and channels, ensuring brand consistency and high production quality.
  • Source high‑quality photography and visual assets aligned to brand guidelines and maintain and organise a centralised library of approved, on‑brand images and visual assets to support marketing, communications and presentation needs.
  • Develop clear, visually engaging infographics, diagrams and simple data visualisations for use in PowerPoint presentations and internal or external communications.
  • Prepare final outputs for distribution (print-ready and digital PDFs), including basic QA checks for accuracy, accessibility and formatting consistency.
  • Maintain organised source files and version control across all assets, templates and working documents.

3. Interactive form creation

  • Build and maintain interactive forms (e.g., Word and fillable PDF forms in Adobe Acrobat) using approved templates and required regulatory wording.
  • Set up form fields, validation prompts (where applicable), tab order and basic user instructions to support a smooth completion experience.
  • Test forms end-to-end (desktop and mobile where relevant) to ensure field behaviour, formatting and outputs are correct before release.
  • Manage updates and versioning across forms, ensuring alignment with source documents.

Why would you choose us?

  • We are a fast-growing successful company.
  • We think it’s exciting to be part of a team which is building something which will make a difference.
  • We are focused, disruptive, think outside of the box and will encourage you to try new things.
  • We really care about our people and want them to have the best experience of their career.
  • We guarantee fun, a challenge, learning and growth!
  • We embrace being challenged through diversity of thoughts.
  • We have a highly collaborative culture and provide an inclusive, enjoyable office experience for all staff.
  • We are Melbourne based and think being in the office all together is important and we think working from home is too: three days in the office (Mon-Tues-Thurs), two days at home.
  • We remunerate well and reward high performance.

Why would we choose you?

  • You are highly skilled in document production, with advanced expertise in Microsoft Word and Adobe CC (InDesign and Acrobat are essential).
  • You are comfortable producing structured, long-form documents that are accurate, consistent and easy to read.
  • You have strong attention to detail, applying brand guidelines, templates and formatting rules with precision and care.
  • You have experience producing long-form financial services and/or legal or compliance documents (highly regarded)
  • You are confident interpreting briefs and feedback from multiple stakeholders across different formats (e.g., email, marked-up PDFs, meetings)
  • You work quickly and reliably, staying calm under pressure and delivering same-day turnarounds during review and feedback iterations
  • You have experience working in either design, agency and marketing environments, adapting easily as priorities shift and deadlines change.
