About the Role
As the Clinical Head of Paediatric Rehabilitation, you will be the clinical heartbeat of our paediatric services working with our National Head of Clinical Development for Physical Rehabilitation. This leadership role balances active clinical practice with the responsibility for mentoring, clinical quality, and program development. You will ensure our services are evidence-informed, outcomes-driven, and aligned with the highest standards of clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clinical Leadership & Governance: Oversee clinical quality and safety across our paediatric rehabilitation services, ensuring alignment with structured performance and development frameworks.
• Mentorship & Education: Provide 1-1 mentorship and lead structured upskilling pathways for our clinicians. Develop and deliver high-quality paediatric courses for our Professional Development Platform.
• Active Clinical Caseload: Maintain an active paediatric caseload (approximately 24 billable hours), with a caseload focus on Pre-school, school-aged children and adolescents.
• Service Development: Contribute to broader Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and organisational outcomes, driving innovation in community-based paediatric models.
• Family-Centred Practice: Champion an outcomes-focused, family-centred approach to care across diverse paediatric populations.
About You (The Ideal Candidate):
We are looking for an experienced clinician who is either already operating as a clinical leader or is clearly ready to transition into that space. We value clinical maturity, reflective practice, and a high “learning velocity.”
Essential Criteria:
• Clinical Expertise: Typically 5+ years of dedicated paediatric experience, with strong capability in managing diverse cases from early intervention through to adolescence.
• Expert Knowledge: Confident in handling complex developmental, neurodevelopmental, and functional presentations within an MDT environment.
• Sector Experience: Essential experience within NDIS and community-based paediatric models. Candidates with exposure to public health, hospital, or specialist paediatric services are highly encouraged to apply.
• Leadership Readiness: A history of independent professional development and a genuine interest in mentoring and clinical education.
• Education & Registration: Minimum Bachelor or Post Graduate Entry Level Degree in Physiotherapy with General AHPRA membership.
• Operational Standards: Demonstrated ability to meet KPIs and align with senior clinical leadership expectations.
• Logistics: Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle; ability to work flexibly and travel as needed.
Desirable Criteria:
•APA Titled Paediatric Physiotherapist status (or active progression toward it).
•Experience in developing structured clinical education or supervision pathways.
