Summary:

The IRAP Assessor plays a crucial role in evaluating and assessing the security posture of IT systems in accordance with the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP). This position is essential for ensuring compliance with Australian government security standards, thereby safeguarding sensitive information and enhancing the overall security framework of the organisation. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver comprehensive assessments and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of IT systems against IRAP standards and guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice on security best practices and risk management strategies.
  • Engage with stakeholders to communicate assessment results and facilitate discussions on security enhancements.
  • Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and regulatory changes relevant to IRAP.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT security assessment or a similar role.
  • Proven knowledge of IRAP and Australian government security frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance.
