About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will assist participants in maintaining independence,
building daily living skills, and achieving personal goals in a safe and supportive
environment.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting personal care routines such as hygiene and grooming
- Assisting with daily living activities in participant homes
- Facilitating community participation including appointments and social activities
- Implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies (PBSP
- Preparing meals and supporting safe eating practices
- Providing medication assistance as directed in care plans
- Encouraging routine, skill development, and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support aligned with individual goals
- Promote independence and confidence through structured routines
- Deliver personal care and daily living assistance
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans where required
- Complete accurate progress notes and documentation
- Adherent to compliance, safety, and organisational procedures
- Communicate effectively with coordinators and team members
Availability Expectations:
- Flexibility across various shift types (day, evening, active overnight)
- Ability to travel between participant locations when required
- Reliable and consistent approach to scheduled shifts
- Professional communication and proactive work ethic
Mandatory Requirements:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals Module
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Medication competency or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver’s licence and access to an insured vehicle
