Northfleet are the largest fleet provider in the Pilbara and are a market leader in the transport, bus, vehicle, and hire industry, supplying solutions to customers throughout, Perth, Pilbara, Southwest and regional Western Australia.  

We are currently seeking experienced local MC truck drivers to join our operations in Port Hedland.

Successful candidates will benefit from a great team environment and competitive hourly rate of $55 to $61/hour dependent on experience and qualifications. 

To be a successful candidate:

  • You must be safety conscious, punctual, hardworking, and reliable.
  • Have a demonstrated long-term work history in a similar role.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of access equipment and be competent to operate all types of equipment, to load and unload onto drop deck road train combinations.

Essential:

  • Experience operating road train combinations.
  • Experienced in transporting oversize road trains (preferred).
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Western Australian Road Network.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Valid WA MC driver’s license as a minimum.
  • Valid WA Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card).
  • Current Commercial Drivers Medical (within three years validity)
  • Fatigue Management Certificate
  • MSIC Card (must be able to obtain if you do not already hold currently) 
  • Have a sound understanding of the region and mine site locations 
  • National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months)

Preferred but not essential:

  • Forklift (LF) Ticket.
  • Elevated Work Platform (WP) Ticket.

Tasks include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements including daily pre-starts on vehicles and  trailers.
  • Adhering to all quality control procedures including using the companies electronic recording systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of fatigue management rules  
  • Operating the vehicle and trailer in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Completing documentation correctly to comply with Fatigue and Safe Driving Plans.
