The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) is seeking a Child Protection Case Worker to join our dynamic Civil Law team in Darwin.
About the Role
As a Child Protection Case Worker, you’ll be part of a team delivering holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally safe support to families navigating the child protection system. Working alongside NAAJA’s legal team, you’ll help ensure families are supported, informed, and empowered on their journey toward reunification and positive outcomes.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with civil lawyers to support strategic case planning.
- Connect families to culturally appropriate services and programs.
- Promote family reunification and support kinship care placements.
- Empower clients through culturally sensitive education and advocacy.
- Assist in developing tools to evaluate and enhance service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- Strong understanding of child protection issues affecting Aboriginal families.
- Case management experience with clients facing complex challenges.
- Cultural competency or lived experience working with Aboriginal communities.
- Knowledge of domestic violence, substance abuse, and family dynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and analytical communication skills.
- Social work qualifications highly desirable.
- Ochre Card (or ability to obtain), NT driver’s licence, and police clearance.
