ABOUT US:
Ngurratjuta Wanka Willuratjta/Alturla Rinya Aboriginal Corporation (NWWARAC) is a progressive Aboriginal Corporation that provides support to Aboriginal Communities of the Western Desert. In particular, NWWARAC aims to deliver high quality services that meet the needs of these communities by supporting the transition of government services and programs to community control.
Ngurratjuta Wanka Willuratjta/Alturla Rinya Aboriginal Corporation was incorporated in 2023 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation (NPNAC). NPNAC was incorporated in August 1985 under the Aboriginal Incorporations Act 1976 (Cth) before transitioning under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth). NPNAC began as an association of communities deemed to have been affected by the oil and gas mining operations at Mereenie and Palm Valley. NPNAC provided a growing income base for the Member Communities, stimulating job opportunities and venture activities for members, while actively supporting community development activities and infrastructure improvements in Member Communities. Across its 40 year history, Ngurratjuta has developed a portfolio of diverse investments and operated enterprises in a variety of industries, including accounting and business services, tourism and hospitality and retail. NPNAC’s core objective of supporting communities flows through to objectives of NWWAR being the delivery of high quality services and support for communities in transitioning services from government-designed and delivered to community-controlled and governed.
