The Organisation

Nganampa Health Council (NHC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation operating on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in the far north west of South Australia. The APY Lands are home to almost 3,000 residents and the Anangu culture is strong with Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara being the first language.


NHC operates clinics 24/7 in the six main communities in the APY lands, one outreach clinic and health programs including in sexual, environmental, dental, women’s, male, children’s, eye and mental health, health worker training and immunisation.

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive Office Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our Alice Springs office. This is a hands-on role where you’ll coordinate office logistics, supervise a small admin team, and act as the central point of contact between our office, remote clinics, and external providers.


You’ll work closely with the Business Manager, alongside Fleet and Purchasing Managers, to keep operations running smoothly.


This role also plays an important part in supporting Work Health & Safety (WHS) across the Alice Springs office, ensuring a safe and well-functioning workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily office operations and ensure smooth day-to-day running
  • Supervise Administration Assistant & Receptionist
  • Ensure office coverage during business hours (8:00am-5:00pm) and reception functions
  • Manage logistics: mail, supplies, facilities, and office systems
  • Coordinate travel and charter bookings
  • Oversee deliveries, courier runs, and collections (incl. medications)
  • Liaise with service providers for maintenance and facilities
  • Support onboarding of locum and visiting staff
  • Promote and support WHS practices, including identifying hazards, coordinating maintenance issues, and ensuring a safe office environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Strong admin and coordination skills
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • NT Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to obtain Police Clearance, Working with Children Check & Ochre Card
