Reporting to the Head of Business Technologies, the Academic Leader – Business provides strategic and operational leadership of the Business programmes and contributes to teaching and academic administration.

This role is responsible for:

  • Development, management and leadership of all Business programmes
  • Manage a team of Tutors and Lecturers across both Business and Technology programmes
  • Manage and contribute to the course development and moderation processes for all our Business programmes
  • Monitoring programme performance, student success and retention
  • Supporting and mentoring academic staff
  • Timetabling and effective resource utilisation
  • Accurate and timely programme administration and reporting
  • Supporting staff research (as a member of the Research Committee)
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of School to build and strengthen external industry networks

Ko koe tēnei | About you

  • Master’s or PhD qualification in Business or a relevant discipline
  • Former Senior Lecturer or Programme Leader, 21C
  • Business and/or technology education background with understanding of industry convergence
  • NZ Certificate in Adult Teaching and Learning (Level 5) or willingness to complete
  • Experience and sound knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education sector
  • Demonstrated experience in programme leadership, quality assurance and moderation
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence
