Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | The opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Business Technologies, the Academic Leader – Business provides strategic and operational leadership of the Business programmes and contributes to teaching and academic administration.
This role is responsible for:
- Development, management and leadership of all Business programmes
- Manage a team of Tutors and Lecturers across both Business and Technology programmes
- Manage and contribute to the course development and moderation processes for all our Business programmes
- Monitoring programme performance, student success and retention
- Supporting and mentoring academic staff
- Timetabling and effective resource utilisation
- Accurate and timely programme administration and reporting
- Supporting staff research (as a member of the Research Committee)
- Working collaboratively with the Head of School to build and strengthen external
industry networks
Ko koe tēnei | About you

Master’s or PhD qualification in Business or a relevant discipline
- Former Senior Lecturer or Programme Leader, 21C
- Business and/or technology education background with understanding of industry convergence
- NZ Certificate in Adult Teaching and Learning (Level 5) or willingness to complete
- Experience and sound knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education sector
- Demonstrated experience in programme leadership, quality assurance and moderation
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
