About the position
We’re looking for an experienced and values‑driven Coordinated Response Service (CRS) Manager to lead our CRS team, ensuring triage of domestic and family violence victims onsite at Police Stations is effective, evaluates complexity of need, and provides the support needed.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll balance your sound professional judgement and strong capacity to assess risk and respond to complex needs with coaching and capability building. You’ll champion strong cohesive inter-agency relationships and provide valuable insight as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
This is a full-time (open to part-time), permanent position based in Merriwa but also working regularly on site supporting the teams at each CRS Police Station.
As CRS Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the CRS team, fostering a positive, accountable, and high‑performing culture
- Developing and maintaining close working relationships with other CRS service providers.
- Acting as an escalation point for complex or sensitive matters
- Use of data and insights to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
- Provision of coaching and support to the team preparing responses to families that are allocated to the FDVCRS through the assessment referral, information, advocacy, support and safety planning.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with relevant legislation and policies
About you
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, community services and/or a related human services field. A Social Work degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a family violence or related role ideally with supervisory experience
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining inter-organisational relationships and support networks that provide mutual benefit.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of family violence including impacts on children and young people, homelessness, poverty, mental health and the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs, and knowledge of support services available to address these issues.
- High-level communication skills (both oral and written) with the capacity to prepare reports, case notes and correspondence in clear and concise language, and the ability to assimilate information from varied sources.
- Demonstrated experience with family violence risk assessment, safety planning, and management frameworks.
- Experienced in team supervision, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proven understanding of, and a commitment to, Aboriginal cultural safety.
- Exhibit understanding of the varying needs of people who have a disability or come from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, LGBTIQ communities and other groups that may experience intersectional oppressions.
- High‐level communication skills (both oral and written) with the capacity to prepare reports, case notes and correspondence in a clear and concise language and the ability to assimilate information from varied sources.
- Sound interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a professional manner with a wide range of clients and service providers, including working cooperatively in a multi‐disciplinary team to enhance teamwork, support client’s needs and their best interests.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake and coordinate projects of moderate complexity that align with PGCNV’s strategic vision. Treats others with dignity and respect; encourages and co-operates with others to achieve common goals; inspires trust and confidence
- Remains calm, focused and maintains perspective when faced with change, crisis, and difficulty; does not give up or get disheartened when faced with obstacles; is flexible
- Responds effectively to challenging behaviours and complex needs in culturally appropriate ways.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive solution evaluation.
- National Police Clearance (within the last 3 months).
- Current WA Driver’s Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check.
