We are currently recruiting Casual Disability Support Workers with Auslan skills to support participants across Melbourne, including individuals who are Deaf, non-verbal, and require high levels of support and communication.
💚About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with Auslan skills, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex needs to live safely, independently, and with dignity. This role is not just about care, it’s about connection, communication, and consistency.
You will be supporting participants in both home and community environments, providing hands-on assistance while ensuring their voice is heard and understood through effective communication.
🧩Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and daily living support while maintaining dignity and respect
- Communicate effectively with participants using Auslan to understand needs and preferences
- Support community access and meaningful engagement
- Assist with routines including meals, hygiene, and mobility
- Maintain accurate documentation and report changes in care
- Work collaboratively with families, clinicians, and internal teams
🌟What We’re Looking For
- Experience in disability support (SIL and/or community)
- Proficiency in Auslan (essential for relevant participants)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Calm, reliable, and emotionally intelligent approach
- Ability to follow structure and escalate when required
- Confidence working with complex or high-support participants
✅Essential Requirements
- Cert IV (or higher) in Disability, Aged Care or similar
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- First Aid & CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- WWCC
- Driver’s licence & reliable vehicle
- Full working rights in Australia
