About the Role
The Senior Content Manager’s primary function is to lead the execution of the Netball Australia’s editorial, digital content and social media strategy across all owned channels. This role will predominantly be based at Netball Australia HQ (Fitzroy) on a 12-month, fixed-term basis covering Parental Leave.
In this role you will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Lead the overarching owned-channel content strategy for Netball Australia to maximise audience growth, and drive revenue and partnership opportunities
- Responsible for the ongoing content approach across website, app, social, audio and emerging platforms
- Manage and set clear expectations for Netball Australia’s high performing content arm, including a team of content producers, editorial specialists and social media experts
- Oversee all editorial planning, ensuring alignment with Netball Australia’s major events, products (eg. Origin Diamonds and Suncorp Super Netball), programs, initiatives and partners’ commercial campaigns
- Lead the national storytelling strategy to elevate the athletes’ personal brands and position the sport for commercial growth
- Own performance and insights across all owned channels, focusing on a data-driven approach to content
- Provide ongoing insights to Head of Marketing and senior leadership regarding audience trends and content growth opportunities
- Represent Netball Australia as a senior content voice and leader
- Support the Head of Marketing
About You
We are seeking applications to candidates who possess the following key attributes, skills and capabilities:

- Minimum of eight to ten years’ experience in a related field of employment
- Demonstrated strategic judgement with a strong track record in editorial excellence
- Deep understanding of the digital content and social media landscape including trends, audience behaviours, and commercial drivers
- Proven record of leading the development of compelling, high-impact digital content and social media strategies that drive engagement and brand growth
- Exceptional storytelling capability and the strategic ability to shape and adapt voice and tone to align with athlete profiles and brand
- Established capability to lead and collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver organisational objectives and measurable outcomes
- Outstanding ability to influence, engage, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Highly developed interpersonal, engagement, and communication skills
- Significant experience working directly with elite talent or athletes

The role is based at Netball’s Head Office in Fitzroy/Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country where you will be spoilt for choice on great coffee spots! Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the domestic & global reach of our organisation, travelling and working outside of Netball HQ and traditional office hours may be required. Our teams work flexibly, and we encourage the successful applicant to discuss flexible working options with their new Manager.
