Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer with more than 7 years of experience, you’ll design, develop, and maintain software solutions that meet business and client needs. You’ll write clean, efficient code, contribute throughout the development lifecycle, and collaborate with product and design to deliver scalable and reliable systems. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for driving innovation and achieving success.

You Must Have:

Knowledge

  • Proficiency with ReactJS, NodeJS & various web tools
  • Knowledge of databases, cloud computing, and git
  • Practice with API development (such as REST or GraphQL)
  • Exposure to one or more cloud-based web services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Understanding and experience working with agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM/agile)

Good for You To Have:

  • Exposure to unified comms, contact centres, or telcos
  • Experience working with Amazon Connect or CX services
  • Good knowledge of AWS services, such as Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB, if you have worked on AWS before.
  • Experience working with Twilio and/or SendGrid
  • Experience in leading/overseeing/mentoring two or more engineers in your previous positions or projects

You’ll Be Expected To:

  • Own the design and delivery of complex features, coordinating across engineers when needed.
  • Write clear, maintainable code with strong test coverage and performance in mind.
  • Create technical design docs for the features lead, ensuring 100% of required artefacts are covered.
  • Provide accurate estimates and regular updates to the team and stakeholders.
  • Support and run team sessions where needed – including workshops, design discussions, and retrospectives.
  • Actively identify and fix performance issues, test gaps, and tech debt in the areas you work in.
  • Raise and lead quality-of-life improvements that make development smoother for others.
  • Mentor and unblock others, pair regularly, and give clear, constructive code review feedback.
  • Share knowledge via demos, posts, or documentation – helping others understand systems better.
  • Help shape the team’s standards, tools, and practices to raise the overall bar.

Learn some basic information about you, including history, general skills, and interests. An opportunity for us to share more about CloudWave, our platform stack, product, and team.

2. Code Challenge | 3-5+ hours | At home

A chance to assess your coding ability. A full-stack exercise to extend an application we’ve created a foundation for.

3. Technical Interview & Meet the Team | 90 mins | Video Call

This is a face-to-face video interview; candidates are required to keep their camera on.

Attendees: Tech Leads & You

We will deep dive into ReactJS, NodeJS, key software principles, and cloud-based solutions, including AWS, Azure, or GCP (one that you are most familiar with). We’ll also discuss your code challenge solution.

4. Live Coding | 60 mins | Video Call

This is a face-to-face video interview; candidates are required to keep their camera on.

Attendees: Senior Engineer & You

A hands-on coding exercise focused on refactoring and code improvement. Candidates may use search engines or LLMs for syntax reference or idea validation. Full solution generation is not allowed, and candidates are expected to articulate their thought process throughout the session.
