Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Principal, Pipeline SME to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of jobs and work scopes for your advanced services engagements, including reporting, and works with technical leader/s to ensure compliance with internal procedures, ensuring the validity of results.
The position is a key element within the NDE Special Services Group (SSG), working closely with the SSG Senior Manager to deliver the outcomes required for NDE customers, existing and new. This role requires a combination of operational expertise, and exceptional Pipeline knowledge to ensure the business unit delivers on their objectives while aligning with NDE Solutions’ overarching vision and values.
Responsibilities:
- Assist NDE’s regions to scope, sell and deliver pipeline inspection packages of work, working closely with the regions to ensure the client’s needs are met.
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of jobs and work scopes for your advanced services engagements, including reporting.
- Work with other operational leaders to ensure the business is promoting a supportive and collegiate environment.
- You will work closely with your Senior Manager to create new and innovative solutions for pipeline inspection packages of work.
- Work with NDE’s technical leader/s to ensure compliance with internal procedure “Ensuring the validity of results” with respect to any methods to which you oversee.
- Ensure that NDE Quality, Safety, Health and Environment standards are upheld by your teams at our client sites.
- Be responsible for the sourcing and maintenance of equipment required for your site, including tracking of equipment, maintaining registers etc.
- Review of client requests and reports before being submitted to the client, working closely with our regional management to ensure client needs are being met.
- Responsibility to ensure information in reports is accurate and consistent with NDE and the client’s expectations.
- Attending internal business meetings for QHSE, business units, operations and people & culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ISO 9712 PAUT (and/or UT) certification
- Exposure to ToFD, PAUT, or complementary advanced methods
- Experience interfacing with ILI data and pipeline integrity programs
- Experience mentoring or developing technical teams
- Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
- Extensive experience in pipeline inspection and verification
- Strong hands-on experience with PAUT (encoded systems preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a technical SME
- Experience working directly with major asset owners and integrity teams
- Willingness to perform both field-based and office-based duties
