Cashier

Summary:

The Cashier position in the FMCG industry involves handling transactions, providing customer service, and answering customer inquiries. The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and basic math skills. They should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for long periods, and have previous retail industry and cash handling experience.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and answer their questions about products
• Operate cash registers, scanners, and other technology to conduct transactions
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and provide excellent customer service
• Keep the cash register area clean and organized
• Follow all retail industry cash handling policies and procedures
• Upsell and promote special offers, new products, or additional services

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Retail industry experience preferred
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Ability to work in a team
• Customer-oriented with a positive attitude
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 20 lbs
• Work schedule may include weekends, holidays, and evenings
• Working in a climate-controlled retail environment
• Exposure to loud noises and occasionally volatile customers
