About the Role:

National Pump & Energy are looking for a SHEQ Manager that will lead a cultural change with regards to Continuous Improvement in Safety, Health and Environment, where excellence is expected and managers are held accountable.

The successful applicant will be responsible for compliance to legislation throughout the company and to build compliance to agreed standards e.g. ISO in all areas of safety, health and the environment to support the strategic priorities and business operations of the company. They will champion continuous improvement strategy and development programmes throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ·Develop, implement and sustain Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Continuous Improvement strategies, systems and programmes that drive commonality and compliance throughout NPE.

o    Resource, lead, inspire and engage implementation team members

  • Lead the development of continuous improvement systems and practices

o    Develop and lead group-wide continuous improvement capability improvement plans (including training, coaching, experiential opportunities)

  • Support the company to achieve its Safety, Health, Environment and Quality objectives.

o    Provide high level advice to senior managers and key stakeholders across the full range of safety policies, programs and practices and mitigate potential risks.

o    Ensure the SHEQ team adequately supports the business to achieve its Safety, Health, Environment and Quality objectives

  • ·Ensure safety, health and environment processes and systems comply with relevant legislation, statutory requirements, and standards.

o    High level of understanding of all relevant statutory requirements and applicable guidelines and standards and provide advice to the business to remain compliant

  • Measure and report value delivered back to the business from our continuous improvement programme.

o    Report progress

  • Lead and develop the Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Continuous Improvement team.

o    Continuously challenge and support employees to deliver their best in their role

o    Ensure employees are fully trained and empowered to do their job

Key Competencies:

Essential

  • ·Strong demonstrated experience in Occupational Health, Safety, Quality and Environment experience.
  • Experience assisting with the maintaining of a certified H&S management system to AS/NZS: 4801;
  • Minimum advanced diploma in OH&S;
  • Graduate certificate or undergraduate degree in OHSE/HSE preferred.
  • Quality auditing and management system experience;
  • Current C-class Drivers licence;
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
  • ICAM or Taproot incident investigation training;
  • Proven ability to manage outcomes and expectations with senior business leaders and key stakeholders, maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Proven leadership ability to develop, empower and motivate employees to obtain the required objectives
  • Results driven; solutions focused with a strong analytical capability
  • Exceptional organisation and planning skills with strong adherence to deadlines and an ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances with great problem-solving and an ability to work well under pressure
  • A high level of discretion and professionalism to act with integrity and always maintain confidentiality
