About the Role
Nationally, we are growing our Sales Team and looking for capable Sales Leads to lead from the front and drive success. As a Sales Lead you will look after the Western Australia Region, team to manage and grow strong client relationships, delivering smart solutions that add value to customers businesses. It will also identify new client opportunities to increase sales capacity and position the company as the first‑choice supplier. The Sales Lead – NSW applicant can be based at our Sydney, Smithfield or Newcastle, Beresfield Branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key client decision makers, securing long‑term supply agreements and driving client retention.
- Position NPE as the preferred and first‑call supplier across selected clients and market segments.
- Deliver prompt, professional, and customer‑focused service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify, develop, and implement strategies to grow the customer base, sales revenue, and market share.
- Lead client relationship management for allocated accounts and support the Sales Team with key accounts as required.
- Prepare accurate quotations, sales records, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure delivery and installation commitments are met on time and to specification.
- Review requisitions, specifications, and tender documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage supplier and purchasing activities, responding promptly to queries, order changes, and cancellations.
- Coordinate with stores personnel to manage inventory levels, stock control, and availability.
- Monitor invoicing, payment tracking, and inventory control processes to support cash flow and accuracy.
- Capture and analyse market intelligence, customer trends, and competitor activity to inform sales
decisions.
- Work consultatively to secure and deliver rental services and projects safely, on time, and profitably.
- Participate in and drive continuous improvement of sales, operational, and administrative processes.
- Build strong internal relationships to support collaboration and business performance.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and engage sales team members to achieve short‑ and long‑term objectives.
- Delegate effectively with appropriate oversight to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of work.
Lead by example in living company values, safety standards, and system compliance.
- Promote NPE products and services, supporting cross‑selling and upselling opportunities.
- Maintain availability outside standard hours to address business‑critical issues when required.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the Manager.
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated strong experience in sales, account management or business development (rental, heavy industry or resources experience would be advantageous)
- Current Driver’s License
- Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and plant range of pumps, generators, or compressors (or similar transferable product knowledge)
- Demonstrated experience in strategic management within a sales environment
- Highly developed communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to manage outcomes and expectations with senior business leaders and key stakeholders maintaining strong professional relationships
- A recognised team leader, strategic lateral thinker, and consummate negotiator
- Ability to communicate at all levels of business and with all manners of customers
- Experience managing client accounts and budgets with a professional, confident, and customer‑focused approach.
- Results driven, solutions focused and highly organised with a strong analytical capability
- Demonstrable business acumen, with the ability to operate in a highly entrepreneurial manner
- Excellent and recognisable negotiating and communication skills
- Exceptional organisation and planning skills with strong adherence to deadlines
- Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances
- Ability to contribute to ongoing improvement and expansion in your own knowledge and skill set
