About the role:
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanic (Field Service) to join our Para Hills West branch. This is a full‑time role combining workshop activities and regular site travel,
supporting mine site dewatering and rental equipment operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and service diesel engines, generators and pumping equipment
- Perform mechanical and auto electrical diagnostics, repairs and preventative
maintenance.
- Assemble, connect and test pumping and power equipment
- Conduct inspections of returned fleet and assess damage
- Scope required repairs and order parts
- Attend site to complete servicing, repairs and installations
- Ensure accurate servicing records and safety documentation
- Deliver excellent customer service while representing the NPE brand
- Be an effective conduit for customer relations and support, particularly whilst on
site.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Trade qualified Mechanic
- Diesel mechanical maintenance and diagnostics experience
- Auto‑electrical fault‑finding experience·
- Ability to read schematics and service manuals
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Current C‑Class driver’s licence
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
- Experience in Rental, Mining, Construction or Heavy Industry
- Pump servicing and repair experience
- Power generation experience
