Description

We are seeking an experienced Dewatering Technician to join our team on a major 12–18‑month project for a Tier 1 client, based in Port Hedland. This position is offered as a 12‑month fixed term contract, with potential for extension.

 

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering critical dewatering infrastructure across mining and civil environments, including the installation of bore pumps and supporting ongoing field-based water management activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission pumping systems, including bore pump installation
  • Mobilise and demobilise pumping equipment
  • Conduct function testing of pumping systems
  • Perform general workshop duties to support project readiness
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Complete safety, testing and inspection documentation accurately and on time
  • Manage safety and environmental hazards onsite
  • Interpret drawings and BOMs to prepare for installation
  • Work collaboratively with site and workshop teams
  • Deliver high quality customer service and represent the NPE brand

What You’ll Need (Essential)

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • BHP Induction- Inducted
  • White Card
  • LF Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • High level of accuracy, initiative and flexibility
  • Strong time management and ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in mining or civil dewatering, pipelaying or pump station operations Poly welding ticket
  • Confined Space, Working at Heights, Dogging/Rigging
  • HR Licence
  • Trade Certificate (e.g.Plumbing)
