Ready to start building your accounting career in an industry that’s anything but boring?
We’re looking for a full-time Financial Accountant to join our Live division, working across our South Melbourne and Albert Park offices. Reporting to the Commercial Manager (Live), this role is perfect for someone who’s recently graduated (or has a couple of years under their belt), and is currently completing or looking to start their CPA/CA.
You’ll support month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial controls, while developing a strong understanding of how live events operate commercially, from tour performance to joint venture reporting. It’s a hands-on role with plenty of exposure, variety, and the chance to grow quickly in a supportive team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves structure and detail, but also wants their work connected to what’s happening in the real world.
What you’ll be doing:
Month-End & Reporting
- Assist with month-end close for the Live division (journals, reconciliations and reporting support)
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and management account information
- Help produce monthly reporting packs including KPI and variance analysis
- Support general ledger accuracy and compliance with internal policies
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with meaningful financial input
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and event/entity funding schedules
- Help monitor spend against budget and identify key trends or risks
- Provide commercial analysis that supports decision-making
Joint Venture & Stakeholder Reporting
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and the finance team at Frontier Touring Company
- Support reporting required under Joint Venture agreements (budgets, forecasts, funding requests and ongoing reporting)
- Assist with meeting JV reporting deadlines and obligations
Cash Management & Compliance
- Support daily bank reconciliations and income allocation
- Assist with withholding tax compliance across Australia and New Zealand
- Support BAS, FBT and year-end processes
- Help maintain accurate reporting of divisional cash flow and liquidity needs
Governance & Systems
- Support policies across expenses, credit cards and travel
- Assist with reconciliation and oversight of divisional credit card expenditure
- Help improve systems, controls and reporting processes over time
- Collaborate with the broader finance team to strengthen consistency across the Group
What we’re looking for:
This role is ideal for someone who is building their foundation and ready to step into a role with real responsibility and visibility.
You’ll bring:
- 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role (or relevant internship / grad experience)
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
- Recently started or looking to start your CA or CPA qualification
- Strong attention to detail and pride in getting the numbers right
- Confidence using Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
- An interest in developing your skills in reporting, forecasting and commercial analysis
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- A professional approach to confidentiality and governance
Experience with entertainment, events or a fast-moving commercial environment is a bonus but not essential.
Why you’ll love it here:
- A chance to build your career in live entertainment
- Exposure to event-level performance and commercial decision-making
- Supportive team environment with opportunities to learn quickly
- Real variety across tours, partnerships and reporting requirements
- Offices based in South Melbourne and Albert Park
If you’re looking for your next step after university (or your first move into a role with real commercial exposure), we’d love to hear from you.
Please send through your resume and a short cover letter telling us why this role is the right fit for you.
