We’re looking for a full-time Financial Accountant to take ownership of reporting and controls across our Live division. Based across South Melbourne and Albert Park offices and reporting to the Commercial Manager (Live), you’ll lead month-end, maintain balance sheet integrity, and deliver clear, commercially relevant reporting that helps the business make smart decisions across Australia and New Zealand.
You’ll build a deep understanding of how the Live division operates, from event-level performance to joint venture reporting, and use that insight to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and performance analysis. Your work will directly influence how events are funded, tracked and delivered.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Financial Reporting & Month End
- Lead month-end close for the Live division, including journals, reconciliations, management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Prepare monthly reporting packs with meaningful KPI and variance analysis.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with Group policies and accounting standards.
- Own detailed balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support annual budgets and rolling forecasts with genuine operational insight.
- Prepare event and entity-level cash flow forecasts and funding schedules.
- Provide performance analysis that supports commercial decision-making.
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and divisional policies.
Joint Venture & Stakeholder Reporting
- Partner with internal stakeholders and the finance team at Frontier Touring Company.
- Deliver all reporting required under Joint Venture agreements, including budgets, forecasts, funding requests and ongoing P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Ensure compliance with JV reporting obligations and funding arrangements.
Cash Management & Compliance
- Provide clear visibility over divisional cash flow and liquidity requirements.
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and manage income allocation.
- Support withholding tax compliance across Australia and New Zealand.
- Assist with BAS, FBT, tax schedules and year-end processes.
Governance & Systems
- Strengthen policies across expenses, credit cards, travel and entertainment.
- Reconcile and oversee divisional credit card expenditure.
- Support continuous improvement of systems, controls and reporting processes.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and broader Finance team to lift capability and consistency across the Group.
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a creative or entertainment environment.
- Currently undertaking CA or CPA.
- Strong technical accounting skills across GST, withholding tax and general company tax.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and commercial performance analysis.
- Confidence working with multiple currencies and high-volume data.
- High-level ERP and Microsoft Excel capability.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to translate financial detail into practical insight.
- A collaborative approach and genuine respect for confidentiality and governance.
This role will suit someone who enjoys structure but doesn’t want to be disconnected from the business. Someone who takes pride in clean reconciliations and strong controls, and also wants to understand how a show, a tour or a partnership performs commercially.
If you’re ready to step into a role where finance is embedded in the action, we’d love to hear from you with your resume and cover letter outlining why this is the perfect next step for you.
