Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. Reporting to Team Lead-Capacity Building, this role requires working collaboratively with clients, families, and key stakeholders to deliver person-centred services to enhance participation and independence, in empowering people with a disability to achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing evidence-based behaviour support services, including developing and overseeing individualized behaviour support, ensuring all practices are in line with current legislation, policy, and the best-practice standards.

  • Knowledge of contemporary approaches to functional assessment and demonstrated ability in the implementation of these.

Key Responsibilities of this role include but not limited to

  • Deliver evidence-based behaviour support services within the Positive Behaviour Capability Framework, the restricted practices and in line with relevant rules, legislations and guidelines.
  • Assist in planning and implementing contemporary behaviour support practices and individualised behaviour support plans to meet client goals and NDIS requirements
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of best practices in positive behaviour support and provide clinical advice, escalating practice issues to line management as required.
  • Provide advisory support on behaviour support matters within allocated client caseloads, contributing to team discussions and case reviews.
  • Actively participate in professional development, peer networking, line management meetings and regular clinical supervision.
  • Accurately document and maintain records in client management system, ensuring compliance with role requirements and data security standards.
  • Adhere to and promote Mosaic’s quality systems, policies, procedures, and protocols, actively contributing to the continuous improvement of processes related to behaviour support services.
  • Deliver and accurately report billable service hours within the allocated timeframe, meeting utilisation targets agreed upon with the Capacity Building Team Lead, Behaviour Support.
  • Implement and uphold the service promise for clients, achieving related KPIs as agreed with the Capacity Building Team Lead, Behaviour Support.

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • A tertiary qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Allied Health, Psychology, or a related field (is preferred but not essential).
  • Be self-assessed as CORE or higher in line with the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Registration as a NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (proof of registration required)
  • Portfolio of Evidence demonstrating practitioner competencies, including a completed NDIS Behaviour Support Capability Framework Self-Assessment.
  • Experience in disability services, behaviour support and/or other related multidisciplinary services.
  • Understanding of the principles and evidence-based practice regarding the delivery of positive behaviour support approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering specialised behaviour support within the disability sector, including contemporary approaches to reducing restrictive practices and responding appropriately to high‑risk situations.
