About the Role
As Head of Credit, you will lead our Credit function across multiple distribution channels, ensuring consistent, high-quality credit decisioning and a strong risk and compliance culture. You’ll oversee portfolio strategy, credit policies, and governance frameworks, partnering closely with the Executive team, Treasury, and Compliance to drive responsible growth.
This role combines strategic oversight and hands-on leadership — perfect for an experienced credit professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-evolving lending environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the organisation’s credit risk appetite, policy frameworks, and portfolio strategy.
- Oversee all credit operations, ensuring timely, consistent, and high-quality decisioning.
- Chair the Credit Committee and provide strategic insights on emerging risks and trends.
- Build strong relationships with funders, LMIs, and regulatory partners.
- Drive innovation through technology, automation, and data analytics.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of credit professionals.
- Collaborate across Sales, Treasury, and Operations to deliver a seamless customer experience.
About You
You’re an experienced lending professional with the credibility and leadership to influence across all levels of the business. You bring a balance of commercial acumen and risk discipline, and you’re passionate about using data, technology, and people leadership to achieve superior outcomes.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in residential or commercial lending, with deep credit assessment and decisioning expertise.
- Proven success leading credit teams in a non-bank or fintech environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (NCCP, AML/CTF, RG209, Privacy, Bankruptcy Acts).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative leadership style that promotes empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement.
