Description

Morling College is a multi-campus Christian higher education provider with campuses in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. We are seeking a part-time Facilities and Events Officer (4 days/week) to join our Sydney campus on a 12-month parental leave contract.

As our Facilities and Events Officer, you will manage:

  • Event Execution: Lead the end-to-end planning, promotion, and delivery of all MC events (on-campus, online, and livestream) while coordinating local logistics with on-site campus staff.
  • Team Collaboration & Budgeting: Coordinate with cross-campus staff on marketing, logistics, and registration/payment processing, and deliver events within budget.
  • Venue & Facilities: Oversee bookings, administration, and enquiries for the Sydney campus facilities, rooms, and car parking.
  • This is a part-time role, 30.4 hours across 4 days/week.
  • Remuneration: $77,554/annum pro-rated to $62,043 (for 0.8 FTE, excl. 12% Super and 17.5% annual leave loading)
  • This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of parental leave. While the initial term is for 12 months, there is a possibility of extension subject to business requirements and the return dates of the permanent employee; however, an extension is not guaranteed

Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

  • Experience in Events Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Attention to detail, strategic, and creative mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly computer literate (Incl. Microsoft Office and communication tools).
  • Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of Morling College.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Formal qualification in Event Management, Communications, or Church-based ministries.
  • Previous experience in Higher Education sector and/or complex organisations.
  • Experience in using online tools to create simple designs.
