We are seeking someone with expertise in Counselling or Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care to join our Sydney and Perth campuses as an Adjunct.
Positions are offered on a casual or independent contractor basis, with responsibilities tailored to the successful applicant’s strengths and area of specialisation.
Depending on experience, role opportunities include Lecturer, Tutor, Marker, Clinical Supervisor, Pastoral Supervisor, and Process Group Facilitator.

Depending on your role, you will be responsible for some or all of the following:
- Prepare and deliver face to face and/or online teaching of classes.
- Promote in-depth engagement in course topics.
- Provide feedback to students via their graded work and other course materials.
- Moderate online discussions.
- Facilitate in person and online process groups.
- Supervise individual students and group discussions.
- Encourage student interaction with faculty.
- Provide appropriate pastoral care of existing students.
- Remuneration: Casual Academic Teacher as per the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award.
- Start date: 20 July for Semester 2, 2026.
Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):
- Academic Qualifications to teach at required AQF levels in Counselling, Chaplaincy, Spiritual Care, or a related discipline.
- Theological education with/or equivalent Christian ministry experience in the relevant field of teaching. (For Chaplaincy adjuncts only)
- Current Professional Association Membership Certificate e.g. ACA, PACFA, CCAA, Spiritual Care Australia.
- Valid Working with Children’s Check.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A minimum 7 years’ relevant and current professional experience in their field of expertise with at least 3 of those years being at a senior level.
- Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.
- Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
- Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of Morling College.
Desirable Attributes
- Demonstrated experience in teaching within a Higher Education institution.
