Casual Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a service-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our Sydney campus on a Casual basis.

As our Casual Maintenance Assistant, you will:

• Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the ground’s external areas (e.g., paths and driveways).
• Maintain the gardens across the Sydney campus.
• Cleaning tasks (e.g. gurney pathways, clear gutters) as required.
• Building and equipment repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Remuneration: $30.35/hour (incl. 25% Casual loading; excl. 12% Super) and subsequently $32.31/hour after three months of employment.

Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

• Experience in building and maintenance or a similar field.
• Possesses an attitude of service and ownership of outcomes.
• Adopts a polite and courteous approach to all people.
• Ability to complete work to a high standard while meeting agreed outcomes.
• IT literacy.
• Excellent creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well in a team, show initiative, and work proactively to ensure the team runs smoothly.
• Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks at any point in time.
• Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.

Desirable Attributes:

• Drivers’ license.
• Trade qualifications in horticulture or another trade.
• Experience in gardening and horticulture or a similar field.
• Boom lift (skyjack) license.
• Demonstrated experience in self-managing a variety of projects.
