The Role:

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team and support a wide range of electrical activities, with a strong focus on the assembly, wiring, and testing of switchboards used within Minetek’s primary product range.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long‑term career in the electrical trade within a specialised manufacturing and industrial environment, working alongside experienced electricians and engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the assembly and wiring of distribution boards, control panels and main switchboards
  • Reading and interpreting electrical design drawings, documentation, and schematics
  • Following instructions and taking direction from skilled Trades on all matters related to the Apprentice learning and development program
  • Interacting harmoniously within the team, offering support where needed and contributing to a positive work culture and environment
  • Seeking opportunity for greater exposure to learn skills and develop knowledge for practical application
  • Maintaining an awareness of safety requirements in accordance with company policy, whilst identifying potential hazards, working with the business to minimise risks
  • Displaying an ability to retain the information and skills learnt on the job, while putting your increased knowledge to the best possible use
  • Adhering to TAFE NSW task requirements to start and complete a 4-year Apprenticeship course. This includes attending TAFE once a week at the closest campus
  • Communicating information to essential personnel within the business, making
  • Supervisors and HR representatives aware of your progress through the program
  • Developing a knowledge of and keeping up to date with relevant industry and Australian standards
  • General electrical tasks associated with assembly and testing as per business requirements

  • Well-rounded problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Can remain consistently reliable and flexible to the changing environment and priorities of the business
  • Will take direction, have an inherent willingness to learn and can adapt performance accordingly when presented with constructive feedback
  • Always polite, well-mannered and respectful in accordance with our company values and behaviours
  • Committed to the requirements of the Apprenticeship program and regular course targets established by TAFE NSW
  • An ability to identify and suggest process improvements and new ideas
  • A genuine team-player who works effectively with others and self-motivated when working autonomously
  • Excellent verbal (presentation) and written communication skills
