ABOUT THE ROLE

MESHKI is seeking a Junior Garment Technologist to collaborate closely with our Garment Tech team to ensure the quality, fit, and construction of our products. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of womenswear categories, while being mentored by experienced Garment Technologists to further develop your technical expertise.

This role will suit someone who is motivated to take on more responsibility, deepen their product development knowledge, and grow into a well-rounded Garment Technologist within a fast-paced, innovative womenswear brand.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Collaborate closely with the design team from initial briefing stages to ensure clear and up to date tech packs. 
  • Assist and learn from the current Garment Tech team and provide support in comment processing.
  • Ensure detailed fit comments are taken and clearly communicated to suppliers.
  • Ensure all garments are measured and prepared for fits with initial annotations on workmanship. 
  • Flag new trims and fabrications to the QA team for appropriate testing and product logging.
  • Maintain the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system (WFX) and ensure all fit comments are processed and up to date.
  • Log and flag samples received each fit day and participate in fit sessions as required.
  • Make detailed comments on workmanship and quality to suppliers.
  • Provide detailed instructions to suppliers on ways to improve fit and workmanship.
  • Participate in returns evaluations of products.
  • Ensure the Bill of Materials is up to date as required for accurate costings and loop in buyers where issues may arise.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Garment Tech / Design role.
  • Experience with high end brands and finishes is ideal but not essential
  • Knowledge of garment construction techniques, pattern making, and tailoring principles, with the ability to communicate these effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for precision and quality excellence.
  • Able to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate across teams.
  • Able to incorporate customer fit feedback into new fits and re-runs of previous styles.
  • Confident in flagging potential issues and proactively working to resolve them.
  • Experience reading pre-shipment reports from suppliers is ideal but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, including excellent diagram skills for communicating with non-English-speaking suppliers. Mandarin speaking a plus but not essential.
