ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Wovens Buyer, you will own the full buying cycle across dresses, outerwear, pants, skirts and shorts – our highest revenue and highest visibility category. Responsible for growing and scaling the MESHKI Woven department, you will lead the elevation and positioning of the assortment, ensuring alignment with the MESHKI brand vision and DNA. You will set the commercial and fashion direction for the range, partnering closely with our design and planning teams to deliver product that resonates with our customer, hits margin targets, and consistently outperforms in market.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead the full buying cycle for the wovens category from trend research and range building to OTB management, sign-off presentations and post-launch trade analysis
  • Build commercially strong, fashion-led ranges that align with customer demand, seasonal moments, and MESHKI’s elevated brand direction across all key markets
  • Monitor weekly trade reports to analyse sell-through, Rate of Sales (ROS) and weeks cover, taking swift action to maximise commercial performance and reduce aged stock
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team to manage inventory turnover, prevent stockouts, and ensure stock performance is consistently optimised across your categories
  • Partner with the Design team to provide market intelligence, consumer insights, and product development direction, ensuring every range is both trend-right and commercially sound
  • Lead trend forecasting and market interpretation for the woven category, identifying emerging trends early and translating them into commercially relevant product for the MESHKI customer.
  • Execute end to end buyer led development to capitalise on emerging trends, customer demand  and market led assortment opportunities.
  • Own margin management end-to-end – negotiating with suppliers to achieve and exceed margin targets, managing cost structures, and identifying opportunities for margin enhancement
  • Manage the critical path in collaboration with Production, driving timely product development, fit approvals and on-time delivery across all seasonal launch windows
  • Present confidently in sign-off meetings, clearly articulating the commercial rationale behind every product decision with supporting data
  • Monitor competitor pricing, market trends and emerging brands to ensure MESHKI’s product offering remains competitive, relevant and first to market
  • Lead and develop your Buying Admin Assistant, setting clear expectations, reviewing accuracy of stock data, and building a high-performing, detail-driven pod

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING

  • At least 3 years of buying experience within an own-brand, elevated fashion label
  • Proven expertise in OTB management, budget accountability and data-driven buying decisions
  • A strong commercial trading mindset – you analyse sell-through, ROS and market data weekly and act on what you find
  • An exceptional fashion eye – you identify trends early, understand the MESHKI customer and DNA deeply, and bring a clear point of view to every range
  • A strong understanding of social and influencer trend cycles, competitor behaviour and market demand.
  • Demonstrated experience in range building across multiple product categories, with a strong grasp of seasonality, pricing hierarchy and customer profiles
  • A skilled negotiator who builds strong supplier relationships and consistently delivers on (and exceeds) margin targets
  • Strong product development knowledge and understanding of fabric, fit and product elevation.
  • Collaborative by nature – you thrive working cross-functionally with design, merchandising, marketing and production, and bring out the best in the teams around you
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members, with a high standard for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian market, with an understanding of the US market as a key growth opportunity for the brand
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Genuine passion for fashion and authentic excitement for what MESHKI is building, you understand where we are and where we are going
