We are looking for a passionate and reliable Demi Chef to join our hotel kitchen team at Mercure Sydney Parramatta. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys early starts, takes pride in preparing high-quality dishes, and thrives in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to a high standard
  • Support with day-to-day kitchen operations
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and presented consistently
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with stock control, deliveries and rotation
  • Contribute to menu development and share creative ideas
  • Attend training and development sessions as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Demi Chef or similar role, preferably in hotels
  • Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to work efficiently during early morning shifts
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
  • Full working rights in Australia – this is essential
