Job Title: Small Animal Surgery Internship
Job Summary:
We are seeking passionate Small Animal Surgery Interns/associates to join our team in Currambine, Western Australia. The ideal candidate will provide valuable assistance for referral specialist surgery services and rehabilitation for small animals. This is a full-time position with regular working hours. Overnight shift is also required.
Skills:
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
2. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Western Australia
3. Passionate about hospital care, surgery, anaesthesia, and rehabilitation
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
1. Perform hospital care for small animals
2. Assisting anaesthesia, surgery and rehabilitation
3. Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices and preventive healthcare measures
4. Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated
5. Overnight hospital care may be required as a shift
Qualifications:
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited institution
2. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Western Australia
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a small animal veterinarian, although new graduates are considered
4. Strong passion about surgery and/or rehabilitation (MANZCVS, CCRT/CCRP holders are highly regarded)
5. Excellent communication abilities
