A bit about the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Developer – Complimentary Medicine to join our team. This role is focused on creating and improving nutraceutical products from initial concept through to commercial launch. Reporting to the Head of Research and Development, you will take full ownership of both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD), leading projects end-to-end. The role combines creativity and technical expertise, requiring you to design innovative, effective, and consumer-focused products while ensuring they meet all regulatory, quality, and commercial requirements.

You will be responsible for bringing ideas to life, managing timelines, and ensuring products are scalable and viable for market success. Working cross-functionally with teams across the business, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality products on time and within scope. Overall, the position is suited to an experienced and driven professional who can balance innovation with compliance and commercial objectives, while continuously improving product offerings.

Some of the key areas you’ll look after are:

  • Lead NPD projects from concept through to commercialisation, ensuring products meet formulation, regulatory, and quality requirements
  • Develop and optimise formulations for efficacy, stability, and sensory performance
  • Manage project timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication using stage-gate processes
  • Conduct research on ingredients, trends, and innovations
  • Oversee product testing, factory trials, and QA collaboration

 

Some of the experience you might bring to the role could be:

  • 10+ years’ experience in product development (nutraceuticals/complementary medicine preferred)
  • Qualification in Nutrition, Herbal, Naturopathy, or related field
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Hands-on formulation and manufacturing experience
  • Solid understanding of TGA regulations and claims substantiation
  • Strong technical writing and scientific evaluation skills
