About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Administrator to support the successful commercial and operational delivery of our projects in Queensland.
This is a hybrid role, where you will primarily perform Contracts Administration duties, while also supporting the operations team with Project Administration tasks as required.
You will play a key role in managing project contracts, variations, claims, and cost control, while ensuring project documentation, workflows and compliance requirements are maintained in line with company policies and ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 45001 (Work Health & Safety) standards.
Key Responsibilities
Contracts Administration (Primary Focus)
- Administer head contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
- Prepare, submit and track progress claims, variations, and EOTs
- Assess subcontractor claims, variations, and payment schedules
- Maintain accurate contract registers and commercial records
- Support cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Assist with procurement, subcontractor engagement and negotiations
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Ensure all contractual correspondence is properly recorded and managed
Project / Operational Support (Secondary Focus)
- Assist with project scheduling and resource coordination using SimPRO (or similar systems)
- Maintain project documentation including RFIs, drawings, registers, and approvals
- Support invoicing, cost tracking, and reporting processes
- Coordinate workflows, site documentation, and inductions
- Assist with purchase orders, supplier onboarding and procurement processes
- Act as a key point of contact for internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors
- Support operational improvements and team coordination
- Ensure compliance with WHS, quality and company procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Contracts Administration or Project Administration within construction or contracting environments
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, and claims processes
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of commercial awareness
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work both independently and within a team
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and ethical conduct
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with SimPRO or similar project/financial systems (desirable)
- Understanding of project financial processes and reporting
- Current driver licence
- Qualification in Business, Construction Management or similar (desirable)
- Experience in industrial, electrical or construction contracting environments (highly desirable)
