Role Purpose

The Group IT Manager will lead Medem Group’s internal IT function, that supports all employees across Australia and New Zealand.

This hands-on, operational role is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of internal IT services to support the business, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. The position oversees user lifecycle management, internal system performance, and technology initiatives that enable organisational growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • User Lifecycle Management – Lead the internal deployment and support of Microsoft 365 services, utilising tools such as Intune to ensure onboarding efficiencies, account provisioning, permissions administration, and offboarding.
  • Mobile Device & Phone System Management – Manage and administer Intune MDM policies to maintain secure, compliant mobile devices, and ensure continuity of phone systems with external providers (3CX) through robust redundancy, emergency procedures, and regular failover testing.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance – Define and enforce security policies, manage risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
  • Service Delivery & Support – Lead the internal IT support function in accordance with SLAs, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement in service quality.
  • Projects & Change Management – Drive the delivery of nominated internal IT projects on time and within scope and budget, ensuring staff engagement and effective support during transitions..
  • Budget & Vendor Oversight – Work collaboratively with Finance to monitor the IT budget, ensuring effective utilisation of funds, and coordinate vendor relationships for any IT tools, services, or outsourced partners.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity – Support Medem’s business continuity through maintaining and regularly testing DR/BC plans to ensure minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Internal Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the primary liaison between IT and business units, translating technical concepts into clear, actionable plans that bring efficiencies into our IT processes and platforms.
  • Reporting – Provide monthly reporting for Internal and Board reporting, including nominated initiatives, performance, outages, and IT plans to improve effectiveness and efficiencies across our infrastructure and partners.
  • IT Strategy & Governance – Support Medem’s SLT, by contributing to executing a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap aligned with organisational goals and potential emerging technologies.
  • Team Management & Development – Oversee daily work, setting clear priorities and providing guidance and development support to your direct report to ensure effective delivery.

About You

  • Proven technology leader with hands-on experience managing day-to-day IT operations and ensuring reliable service delivery
  • Strong technical expertise across cloud platforms, networking, on-premises environments, and cybersecurity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, cross-functional IT projects on time and within budget
  • Sound financial acumen, including cost management and vendor negotiation
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, able to resolve critical issues under pressure
  • Experience leading and collaborating with diverse, geographically dispersed teams
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally to align technology outcomes with organisational goals

Measures Of Success

Comprehensive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be developed and reviewed annually in accordance with Medem’s business strategy and performance management framework, ensuring sustained alignment with business priorities and continuous performance improvement. Location: After onboarding is completed in office, a flexible hybrid working model is available from our office in Surry Hills, NSW 2010. The location is close to public transport and is surrounded by a variety of restaurants and cafes.
