The Role

A Melbourne Based Role – Please Only Apply If You Currently Live In Melbourne, Australia. This is not a remote role.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Duck Creek Policy Developer to join our technology team and play a key role in delivering scalable, high-quality insurance solutions. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who thrives in complex environments and has a proven track record delivering Duck Creek Policy Administration System (PAS) implementations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of solutions within Duck Creek Policy Administration System (PAS)
  • Develop and configure Duck Creek Policy and Party components, including Manuscripts and User Administration
  • Design and implement system integrations and orchestration workflows across Duck Creek and external platforms
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to support business and system requirements independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects across integrated systems and environments
  • Ensure adherence to development standards, best practices, and code quality expectations
  • Actively participate in code reviews, providing technical insight and solution recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, internal engineering teams, Duck Creek specialists, and SI partners to deliver robust, end-to-end solutions

 

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Proven experience with Duck Creek Policy Administration System (PAS) across multiple implementations
  • Strong knowledge of Duck Creek architecture, including inheritance model and best practices
  • Experience designing and supporting integration patterns (APIs, messaging, middleware) and orchestration of services
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • .NET / C#
    • SQL (advanced querying and optimization)
    • XML, XSLT, JSON
  • Experience with Duck Creek Manuscripts and requirement documentation (PL101)
  • Exposure to Duck Creek OnDemand (DCOD) is highly regarded
  • ·Solid understanding of enterprise system architecture and distributed systems

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on Duck Creek PAS experience
  • Experience delivering at least 2 full Duck Creek PAS implementations (APAC experience preferred)
  • Strong background working within Agile, Lean, and Waterfall delivery environments
  • Experience participating in or facilitating Agile ceremonies and technical workshops
  • General insurance domain knowledge, with understanding of policy lifecycle, underwriting, rating, and billing processes
